Are you looking for work? Are you registered with the Job Bank? If you are looking for work and haven’t registered yet – you really should. Here’s why…

This morning I was on the phone with a job seeker who was calling to inquire about a job he saw posted on our website. After we discussed the position I asked him is he was registered with the Job Bank. He said he wasn’t and was content to just browse our web site each week.

That got me thinking – I took a closer look at our data and discovered (as I had suspected in the past) that not all jobs that come through the Job Bank get posted on the website. Many of them, in fact MORE THAN HALF of them, are handled over the phone or via email. Employers contact us with a job to fill and with the help of our speedy database, I am able to provide them with a list of eligible candidates. Easy.

Who are the candidates that get put on this list? The ones who have registered with the Job Bank and have stayed in touch with us.

  • How much does it cost to register? Nothing.
  • What’s in it for you? You are one of the skilled and willing job seekers on our list – your name will be given to the appropriate employers as they contact us. If you have an email address, you’ll also get weekly emails to keep you up to date on what’s happening.
  • What happens if you get a call about a job you don’t want? Simply say “No thank you. But I’m glad you called.”
  • Who sees my info? I share your information only with prospective employers for a specific job. The  Job Bank does not sell its data or publish it in any way for public use.
  • How do I register? Visit our office or our websitehttp://woodstockjobbank.org/register-as-a-local-worker/

If you are looking for a job, I hope that you’ll register with us soon. If you are already registered, I hope that you stay in touch so that we can keep your file up to date and refer you to employers who will value your skills.
