Become a Mentor…Make a Difference

Mentoring Informational Gathering – Make a Difference

On Thursday, March 14th between 3:30-5:30, Windsor County Partners (WCP) will host an informational gathering about mentoring youth in our community at the Windsor Public Library. It is open to all who are interested in learning more about this valuable opportunity.

Windsor County Partners is a nonprofit organization based in Windsor, VT. Since its founding approximately 45 years ago, WCP has matched over 1500 children with caring adult mentors. The children (mentees) are referred to us by their schools or families. Research shows that mentoring promotes healthier children, families and communities. High school graduation rates increase. Juvenile crime goes down. Teen pregnancy is reduced and teens are 45% less likely to initiate drug use.

The need for mentors is great and continues to grow. Our mentors come from all walks of life. They are volunteers who become a companion, a guide and a role-model for a child. Please join us to learn about the benefits of mentoring through either our in-school or community-based program. This is an opportunity for you to have a meaningful impact and make a significant difference for as little as an hour a week.
