Hartford Community Coalition is seeking a Program Coordinator

coalition acts to reduce the stigma and impact of alcohol and drug use,

food insecurity and mental health in support of the development of a

healthy, safe, and resilient Hartford.

Program:

This position divides their time between Drug Free Communities grant

work-substance misuse prevention work for adolescents, suicide prevention, Take

a Bite Out of Hunger summer lunch program, and other HCC program support.

Reports to:

HCC Executive Director and DFC Program Director

Position Classification:

Part-Time/Hourly 20 hour work week, flexible schedule, occasional

evenings/weekends required

Location: HCC office, White River Junction, VT

Position Description:

The half-time HCC Program Coordinator will provide administrative and

logistical support to the Program Director, to include coordinating many of

the HCC events; representing HCC at community and school events; helping

coordinate youth activities; communicating through multiple channels to

educate, coordinate, and build momentum around HCC activities, initiatives

and interactive marketing campaigns focused on reducing substance abuse and

increasing health and wellness; and keeping coalition data collection up to

date. The ideal Program Coordinator will have administrative and

organizational skills, proven experience working with youth, exceptional

communication skills, a collaborative team approach, flexibility in working

hours (periodic evening events required), and a strong background in

managing work plan activities, writing reports, data entry/computer skills,

and prioritization of activities across multiple projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.

Provide logistical support for coalition meetings and take minutes as

needed.

2.

Assist Program Director with event planning activities and social media

campaigns; designing materials and coordinating the marketing plan for

educational campaigns targeting parents and teens, as well as promoting our

work and mission.

3.

Provide on-site support for summer Take a Bite out of Hunger summer

lunch program.

4.

Provide coalition project or program support, especially with youth

engagement efforts.

5.

Compile coalition activity data and ensure it is entered into proper

data management systems.

6.

Provide general administrative support like ordering supplies,

maintaining contact lists, filing coalition records, and other duties as

assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in public health or community development-related

field preferred; at least 2 years experience working in a community

setting, with demonstrated experience working with youth.

Proven ability to work independently

Excellent organizational skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Drive and general

computer skills

Experience in graphic design, PR, social media promotion, campaign

management and design is preferred

Amount of Travel Expected:

Program Coordinator should expect significant local travel (within 20

miles of office). All travel related expenses will be reimbursed by the

coalition, according to federal travel guidelines.

Program Coordinator is invited to attend 3 week-long trainings with The

National Coalition Academy, a comprehensive training program developed by

CADCA’s National Coalition Institute to establish or maintain a highly

effective anti-drug coalition

Physical Demands and Work Environment

70% of this position is completed while sitting

30% of this position is completed while walking, crouching or kneeling

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

The work environment is the HCC office or school cafeteria for summer lunch

program. Closed toed shoes are required at the cafeteria.
