Student Assistance Program Provider

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in education or psychology and a graduate degree in education or psychology are preferred. Certification of AAP in Vermont, CPS in New Hampshire, or license as a Mental Health Counselor or LADC in VT or NH is required within one year of employment

Brief Job Description:
Provide Student Assistance Program curriculum and counseling supports to students between the ages of 12 and 21 in local middle- and high schools. Report to Second Growth’s Executive Director, and report to administrator in the school to which you are assigned. Regular clinical supervision provided by two professionals: a school psychologist (Ph.D.) and a licensed drug counselor (LADC).

Brief Outline of Responsibilities:
Provide prevention education in a classroom setting as requested by school administrators and staff. Facilitate a variety of groups as needed. Conduct assessments, provide early intervention and counseling, and/or refer students to providers as needed. Support the work of school guidance counselors, teachers, school nurse, and administrators as needed. Be an active member of school-based Student Support Team or other multi-member school based committees.

  • Second Growth seeks a Student Assistance Program provider who has earned an undergraduate degree in education or psychology and a graduate degree in education or psychology are preferred. Will provide training and support continued education for the right candidate. We require candidate to achieve certification as AAP in Vermont, CPS in New Hampshire, or license as a Mental Health Counselor or LADC in VT or NH within one year of employment. Duties of this job include: Provide prevention education in a classroom setting as requested by school administrators and staff. SAP provider will facilitate a variety of groups as needed, and conduct assessments, provide early intervention and counseling, and/or refer students to providers as needed. Support the work of school guidance counselors, teachers, school nurse, and administrators as needed. Be an active member of school-based Student Support Team or other such multi-member school based committees.
