High Horses Summer Volunteer Training Day

The busy season is fast upon us at High Horses. Our summer schedule
includes several children’s camps as well as our usual busy session of
non-camp riders. If you are looking for a fun, educational and rewarding
way to spend some time during the summer months, consider volunteering at
High Horses. All new volunteers must attend an initial volunteer
orientation. We offer continuing education and training opportunities for
our volunteers to learn more about horses and how therapeutic riding makes
an amazing difference in our rider’s lives.  Volunteering at High Horses is
a fun, and incredibly rewarding way to help out in the community. We serve
riders with autism and children and adults with a myriad of disabilities.
We are also hosting a fast-growing veteran’s program.

A new volunteer orientation is scheduled for *Sunday, June 10, 9am-12pm*. This
training will include an overview of High Horses history and a description
of the programs we offer.   We will also delve into the specifics of
helping out in our lesson program. Attendees will experience  “hands-on”
what it is like to work with our horses and a rider in a “mock” lesson.

Also, for those of you who have kids that might be looking for an
educational and productive way to spend some time this summer we offer kids
as young as 12 years old opportunities to help around the barn.  At 14
years old kids can help out in the lesson ring. This is a wonderful way to
accrue some community service hours.
