Green Up Day is (always) the first Saturday in May – May 6th 2017.

This years theme “All Together now!” captures the experience of how the Sharon community comes together and accomplishes great things every year on Green Up Day.

Come join your neighbors as we clean the town road sides and riversides.  We are distributing both the usual green bags and clear bags in hopes that people can collect recyclable and redeemable items in the clear bags and the regular trash in green bags. Bags are available at the town offices and at the town library.  On the day Bags are available at the town garage.  If you need a spot to go out and pick up trash come down to the Town Garage on Green Up day and the crew will find you a spot that hasn’t been cleaned up yet.

Peter Lowes is looking to help out people pick up trash around town prior to Green Up Day.  If you need help or know of a spot that could use some trash pick up contact Peter at 802-763-8745.

This year there will again be a crew of volunteers at the town garage from 8:00 – 3:00; In addition to the stuff we pick up from the roads, we will be collecting electronics, tires, scrap metal and fluorescent light bulbs. (there are fees for used tires)

On Green Up day You are invited to help plant seeds of pollinator plants to distribute to encourage pollinators in our home gardens and to help prepare a pollinator garden in town.

And the Conservation Commission is hoping we can organize a crew to map our conservation resources in the northwest quadrant of town.  Please contact me if you would like to make this happen.
